- WildBlue is a broadband internet satellite provided that uses a 28”x26” satellite dish to provide access to virtually anyone, virtually anywhere, in the Continental United States. - WildBlue Broadband Satellite System is fast, easy, and affordable broadband access that provides speeds of up to 1.5 megabits per second download and 512 kilobits per second upload to anyone using a Windows or OSX-based computer system.

WildBlue Dish with Modem- WildBlue Broadband Satellite System will take the internet to new heights, and bring broadband direct to you, wherever you are at.

- WildBlue Broadband Satellite System is at the forefront of two-way broadband satellite internet access providing secure encrypted communication between the WildBlue Broadband Satellite System and the internet gateways, a privacy cable and most DSL does not provide.

The WildBlue Broadband Satellite System not only receives signals from space, just like your DirecTV or Dish Network system, but it also transmits signals back to space. Data is transmitted from the satellite dish to the WildBlue satellite, which then retransmits down to a ground station, or gateway. This gateway is connected to the internet through multiple fiber-optic data lines. WildBlue’s spot-beam technology allows the country to be broken down into regions and for any number of gateways to be established to handle the bandwidth needs of WildBlue’s customer base. There are presently 36 spot-beams and five gateways with two additional gateways scheduled for construction.

At the heart of WildBlue’s one dish solution is a two-way wireless satellite minidish and transceiver designed by WildBlue and its technology partners. The WildBlue Broadband Satellite System was designed around the DOCSIS technology. These standard components are the same found in most cable modems throughout the United States. This allows amore reliable signal and lower prices for the consumer.

What makes the WildBlue Broadband Satellite System unprecedented consumer value possible is its innovative use of KA-bands. With one satellite WildBlue is capable of covering the United States with spot beams, allowing for greater bandwidth and a more affordable price.

WildBlue’s first satellite was launched in July or 2004 and the service was made operational in the summer of 2005. WildBlue’s second satellite has been developed by Space System Loral and is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2006. Once this second satellite is launched, WildBlue will be able to dramatically increase its subscriber base due to the additional 15 gigabits per second of data bandwidth.

WildBlue’s orbital positions are strategically positioned in the middle of EchoStar’s Dish Network and DirecTV’s satellite constellations.

The WildBlue Broadband Satellite System has been funded by blue-chip investors such as Liberty Media, Intelsat, the NRTC, KPCB, and Telesat.

Today, the internet has reinvented us. Now it is WildBlue’s turn to reinvent the internet. To revolutionize broadband internet access and to put it within virtually everyone’s reach. At the forefront of that revolution is the WildBlue Broadband Satellite System.
