Learn a bit about who your designer is . .

Born in Ohio in 1958 to Howard & Carolyn (Curry) Brady, then several months later the family relocated to Florida when my father accepted a position with the RCA Optics Division. My grandparents, not knowing that we were coming to Florida, were surprised with the anonymously presented package on their front doorstep, the messengers being nowhere in sight. However, after taking one look at this little bundle of a boy, my grandfather announced "that this most certainly had to be a Brady - just look at the ears." Another generation receives the genetic gift passed down thru the lineage. (Both of my sons also bear this same distinct "Brady" trait.)

I grew up on the outskirts of what was almost the Everglades, but a few miles farther north than the actual historical swampland. We still referred to it as "livin' in the boonies." I spent my summers swatting mosquitoes, giggin' crawdads and bullfrogs, and catchin' tadpoles. We certainly had our share of local gators, but I was fast enough not become lunch. During my youth, I watched as rockets launched from Cape Canaveral streak across the sky, as the world put the first man into space, seeing Neil Armstrong make the first human footprint on the face of the moon, I became aware of just how small the world really is. (And having been to Disney World one too many times, I'm tired of hearing the song "Its A Small World After All!")

In my teenage years I had the pleasure and the honor of living in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia in a very tiny little town of Singers Glen with my grandparents for a couple of years. At the time, I didn't have a deep appreciation for God's wonders of nature and creation, but as time wore on I regained that sense of awe about the size of things, big and small. I wish I would have paid more attention back then. But in a way, maybe I did deep down because I know how much I miss it now.

I arrived in California in late 1979, a few years after high school, having met my (ex)wife as a result of the Space Shuttle program. She was part of the team sent to Florida from Palmdale, CA. to repair damage happening during the first piggy-back flight of the Columbia from Palmdale to Florida. And, as luck and nature would have it, Hurricane David caused our paths to cross. As a result of that union, we have two outstanding boys, Patrick and Troy, who have recently reached their adulthood.

I spent one and a half decades as an autosound installer. It was a career that I enjoyed immensely, as I watched the world evolve from 8-Track tapes, cassettes, then to CDs. But time took its toll on an old motorcycle knee injury and I couldn't spend anymore time in the outrageous positions it takes to work on cars.

So, switching (my mid-life crisis?) to another career, I thought I would put my computer to work and see if I could bang out some form of a living. Well, it seems as if about one half of the one third of the nation was wanting to do the same thing. And the other part was wanting to sell you a bill of goods to make that happen. You've heard the hype - work at home, choose your own hours, find financial freedom, live your dreams. Yeah, I'll admit it - I bought into a couple of them. But, after the second time of feeling like I had been taken, I stepped up, did some research (using the internet), spoke out about it using the internet to deliver my message, was hit with a lawsuit for doing so, fought it as Pro Se defendant (representing myself because I couldn't afford to hire a attorney), won the lawsuit because I proved that I was well within my First Amendment rights. And, as a result of my efforts, the offending party was shut down by the DA's office, sued by the County, and ended up having to file for bankruptcy. Score one for the little guy!

Robert M Brady - September 2002It was using the power of the internet - that's how I got started, indirectly, in the web design business. Partly because I was impressed with what I accomplished, but curiosity drove me to figure out how some of these incredible websites are made. Curiosity will get you into trouble every time! ;)

So here I am today, putting it all to work, using my God-given talents and the knowledge that I have gained through these experiences, to bring in the new era of Information Technology.

And maybe earn a buck or two along the way . . . .
